Where Kubera is better
Kubera does a lot that Total Worth deliberately does not. If these matter to you, Kubera is likely worth its price.
- Automatic updates. Kubera connects to banks, brokerages, exchanges and wallets through several aggregators and keeps balances current for you. With Total Worth, you type every number yourself.
- Far broader asset coverage. Beyond property, cash and listed investments, Kubera covers DeFi, NFTs, private investments with IRR, gold, vehicles, watches and debts. Total Worth sticks to three categories and does not track liabilities.
- Any currency. Kubera is multi-currency throughout, which suits people with assets in many countries. Total Worth supports only EUR, USD and RON.
- Sharing and estate planning. You can share a portfolio with family, assistants or advisors with granular access control, and Kubera’s Dead Man’s Switch delivers your portfolio to beneficiaries if you are inactive for too long. Total Worth has no sharing or beneficiary features.
- Native apps and sync across devices. Kubera has iOS and Android apps backed by a cloud account. Total Worth keeps data in a single browser unless you export and import it.
Where Total Worth is better
Total Worth is built for a simpler job: a clear, private picture of your net worth over time, at no cost.
- It is free. There is no subscription, no trial clock and no paid tier. For many households, a $250 yearly fee is hard to justify for a number they check once a month.
- No account, no connections. There is nothing to sign up for and no financial account to connect. To be fair, Kubera’s connections are read-only and it says it never stores your banking credentials. Total Worth simply never asks.
- Your data stays on your device. Everything is stored in your browser’s local storage. There is no Total Worth server holding your balances, so there is nothing to breach or delete on our side.
- Property valuation that works anywhere. Total Worth values property as area × price per m² for each year. You can use local listings or market reports for your city, which works even where no automatic valuation service exists.
- Inflation on your real history. Enter yearly inflation rates and see how much of your past growth was real. The dashboard shows the inflation shift, the loss amount and the real value, not only projections.
- Household view included. Create a profile for each person and switch to the Household view to see combined wealth, with a breakdown by person, at no extra cost.
Total Worth’s limits, plainly
Before you switch, know what you give up:
- Every value is entered by hand. There is no bank, brokerage or exchange syncing, so you update balances and prices yourself, typically once a month or once a year.
- Only three currencies are supported: EUR, USD and RON.
- It tracks assets (property, cash and investments). Debts, mortgages and loans are not tracked.
- There is no app-store app. It is a responsive web app that works in mobile browsers.
- Your data lives in one browser on one device. To move it or back it up, export a JSON file and import it elsewhere. Clearing your browser data deletes it.
Which one should you choose?
Choose Kubera if you have many accounts across institutions and countries, want balances to update on their own, need to track debts, private investments or alternative assets, or want beneficiary and advisor sharing. It is a serious tool for complex wealth, and it is priced accordingly.
Choose Total Worth if your wealth fits into property, cash and investments, you hold EUR, USD or RON, and you are happy to update values by hand. You get a dashboard, a household view and inflation-adjusted values for free, without creating an account or connecting anything.
You do not have to decide blind: Total Worth needs no sign-up, so you can enter your numbers in a few minutes and see whether it is enough for you.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a free Kubera alternative?
Yes. Total Worth is a free net worth tracker that covers real estate, cash in several currencies, crypto and stocks, with a household view and inflation-adjusted values. Unlike Kubera it does not sync with banks, so you enter values manually.
Can Total Worth sync my bank and brokerage accounts like Kubera?
No. Total Worth has no bank, brokerage or crypto exchange connections. That is a deliberate privacy choice: you enter balances, quantities and prices yourself, usually monthly or yearly.
Where does Total Worth store my data?
In your browser’s local storage, on your own device. There are no user accounts and no server that holds your financial data. Export a JSON backup regularly, because clearing your browser data removes it.
Can I import my Kubera data into Total Worth?
Not directly. Total Worth only imports its own JSON backup format, so you would re-enter your assets by hand. Kubera lets you export your data to a spreadsheet, which makes a handy reference while you do.
Does Total Worth support currencies other than EUR, USD and RON?
Not at the moment. You can choose EUR, USD or RON as the display currency and edit the exchange rates. If you hold many other currencies, Kubera’s multi-currency support is a better fit.
